Immerse Virtual Studio in Logic is compatible with mixing Apple Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos, surround sound, or stereo tracks. Watch this video to learn how.
Follow these steps:
1. When you create a new project, make sure your Audio Input and Audio Output are set to Surround.
2. Navigate to your Preferences > Audio
3. To use Immerse together with your Spatial Audio Dolby Atmos mix, you will want to set up a 7.1.2 Spatial Audio session.
a. Go to "File -> Project Settings -> Audio".
b. Select "7.1.2" as Surround Format
c. "Dolby Atmos" as your Spatial Audio format.
d. Click OK.
Note: In this example we will set up 7.1.2 with Dolby Atmos mix session. However, If you are not using Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio, you can select Surround Format: 7.1.4, and Spatial Audio: Off.
3. Navigate to Preferences -> I/O Assignments -> Output.
a. Select 7.1.2 as your Surround Format.
b. Next to Initialize, click “Default”.
c. Do the same on your Inputs Tab as well.
4. Navigate to your Master channel
a. Select the Dolby Atmos plugin and set the Monitoring Format to 7.1.4
Note: you can skip this step if you are not using Dolby Atmos
b. Insert Immerse Studio on your Master channel as the last insert
Note, Immerse is AFTER the Dolby Atmos Renderer plugin
5. In the Immerse plugin window, set Channel Configuration to ‘7.1.4 Logic’
You're all set to start monitoring your surround sound or Atmos mix with Immerse!
