You may need to change settings on PS5, Xbox, or PC to make sure Spatial Audio or Atmos is off on your gaming device to hear Enhanced Headphone Mode correctly. Check out the instructions below.
Note: If you are using a headphone or sound card that has 3D or Surround audio, you'll also want to turn that off.
On PC
Ensure Microsoft Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos for Headphones are not enabled.
Head to your Sound Device Output and make sure Spatial Sound is set to Off.
On Xbox
Ensure Dolby Atmos for Headphones is NOT enabled on your Xbox.
Navigate to Settings > Volume and Audio Output > Headphone Audio, and select Stereo Uncompressed.
On PS5
Be sure to turn off 3D Audio, and Dolby or DTS, then plug in your headphones to your PS5 Audio output, turn on Enhanced Headphone Mode, and game on!
Here is how to access these settings:
- Go to Settings from the home screen.
- Select Sound.
- For 3D Audio (Headphones) toggle "Enable 3D Audio for Headphones" off
- For Audio Format (Priority) select from the drop-down Linear PCM and ensure Dolby and DTS are off.
